Happy #foodiefriday! I just took a look at the weather forecast for this weekend, and it’s supposed to be in the mid-eighties now through Sunday. Looks like this weekend will be the perfect time to break out the grill, hop in the pool, or work on those much-needed tans!

If the weather isn’t proof enough that summer is here, then the specials downtown should be! Scrolling through facebook this week, I’ve seen everything from fresh lemonade and luau-themed drinks to salads covered in fruits and thick grilled burgers. And of course, it wouldn’t be summer without my personal favorite, ice cream! Julia and I stopped into the Dancing Lion to try a scoop of their Mexican Vanilla Ganache, and we were IMPRESSED! It was thick and creamy, made with farm fresh eggs. The perfect pick-me-up for a boring Tuesday!

What are your favorite summer treats?

I recently just learned about Buzzfeed Food… and I am completely obsessed. Each article is a list with delicious recipes, pictures of food, and insane dishes that will have you drooling at your desk. Check it out here: http://www.buzzfeed.com/food. I’ve already bookmarked no less than 10 recipes I’m dying to try. Even if my end result looks nothing like the picture…sigh.

PS: This week’s #foodiefriday features three different types of calamari from Fratellos, XO on Elm, and The Pint! Check them out below…yum!

A favorite summer event here in the Intown office is ‘Lunch in Veterans Park’ which is hosted by the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch or stop at a downtown restaurant and buy one. There is often live music and sometimes Ben and Jerry’s is there selling ice cream. A total win in my book!

When we can sneak out of the office to attend, we always seem to gravitate towards Finesse Pastries boxed lunches–they’re so delicious! Some other popular downtown spots people grab and go from are Moe’s, Portland Pie, Athens, and The Gyro Spot. I’ve said it time and time again, when it comes to eating downtown, you can do no wrong!

Sadly, there is only on ‘Lunch in Veterans Park’ left for the summer–next Thursday the 28th from 12p-2p. Check out more details here.

What is your favorite place to grab a boxed lunch before heading to Lunch in Veterans Park?

I cannot believe this is our 25th #foodiefriday post! Time certainly flies when you’re having fun! There are so many great restaurants downtown and the best part of this blog series is being able to visit new places (and snapping photos!). I had a friend ask me what my favorite restaurants were downtown last weekend…let’s just say my list went on and on and on! There is such a variety, it’s hard to choose! What is your favorite downtown spot?
