Happy Friday, Manchester!

Yesterday Sara and I got to tour Penuche’s Music Hall at 1087 Elm Street,

and we were impressed! Their outdoor seating is brand new and custom- a beautiful and bright orange that really pops on the sidewalk!   They added balcony seating and spruced up the chandeliers. The bathrooms were completely redone to look modern and luxurious.

But the best part of all: They now serve mudslides! The perfect cold treat on a warm summer day. Penuche’s is planning to have live music as often as possible, so keep an eye out for fun shows this summer!

Good morning, Manchester! Trixie here with the latest foodie Friday post!

This week, I’d like to take the time to really appreciate one of the biggest lunch classics of all time: The Sandwich.Whether it’s cold or hot, toasted or grilled, covered in cheese or slathered with mayo, there’s something so beautiful about having all your favorites swaddled between two slices of bread.

Luckily, downtown appreciates sandwiches just as much as I do, and there are TONS of options, regardless of what you like or what you’re in the mood for. So no matter what kind of sandwich personality you have, like turkey-avocado-cheddar or roast beef-onions-swiss, there’s a sandwich here in downtown for you!

Happy Friday! Although the weather had a fun April Fool’s Day prank to play on us, I think it’s safe to say the Spring is finally here. The weather forecast still reads that next week we’ll be launched into some beautiful sunny days before the spring showers hit!

I think the best way to celebrate warm weather is with cool drinks, and it seems that A&E Coffee agrees. They’ve got some awesome specials for the month of April that’ll help you cool down and enjoy that weather!

The following is a guest post by A&E Coffee

A&E Coffee & Tea is launching two new Feature Drinks in April, the Very Berry Cream Soda and the Spring Break Latte. “These are a continuation of our craft approach to drinks in our cafes,” says Emeran Langmaid, owner. “We are constantly striving to come up with creative ways to make drinks using real, natural ingredients. Certainly as the craft cocktail has become popular, craft lattes and au laits are following suit.”

The Very Berry Cream Soda is a spin-off of the widely popular Espresso Cream Soda made at A&E Coffee & Tea. It uses only 5 ingredients: organic very berry tea, cream, seltzer, house made vanilla simple syrup and garnished with fruit.

The Spring Break Latte is concocted with orange zest infused almond coconut milk, espresso and house made vanilla simple syrup. It can be served hot or iced.

While scrolling through Facebook this week I stumbled upon this post by Mint Bistro:

Now I don’t know about you, but to me the thought of sipping on a fresh mint Mojito is quintessential Summer. Bright, citrusy,  and most importantly, COLD!

Of course, the perfect summer drink differs from person to person. Some people prefer an ice cold brew. Others might like a frozen margarita. Luckily, there’s no shortage of options for icy drinks in downtown! So the next time you’re craving a brisk drink, be sure to stop by Elm Street!

With April coming to a close, we’re setting our sights to May. And, of course, with May comes Cinco de Mayo!

No one in downtown takes this celebration more seriously than Margaritas. Every year this restaurant hosts a week-long celebration! We’ve got all the details right here, so you can start your Cinco planning!

Tuesday, May 3rd – Taco Tuesday Cinco Style!  All You Can Eat Tacos for $9.99, plus the first 100 people to order tacos at our restaurant get a free gift!

Wednesday, May 4th – Noche de Familia and Noche Mexicana Fundraiser.  Celebrate with the family.  Lots of prizes especially for the kiddos, plus 20% of all participating guest checks go to a great local charity.

Thursday, May 5th – CINCO DE MAYO. Quite frankly, the biggest and best party of the year.  Be here early!  All locations open by 11:30 am!

Friday, May 6th – Cinco Recovery Party!  We are not sure if we are celebrating that Cinco de Mayo 2017 is only 364 days away or if we are still cheering in the current Cinco, but we are keeping the party going!

And don’t forget that next Thursday will also be the Hippo’s Annual Taco Tour. With all the hustle and bustle in downtown, we hope that you have fun celebrating and stay safe!

Hello, Manchester!

This past week I visited Taj India, a relatively new restaurant on Downtown’s Strip. I was a bit apprehensive to go at first, since I’ve never had Indian food before. I love trying new things, but I had no idea where to start!

Luckily, Taj India offers a lunch buffet. It’s not extensive by any means, but it was a great way to try some of their most popular dishes! I tried their Saag Paneer, Aloo Gobhi, and Chicken Tikki Masala. All of these dishes were fantastic, but I really fell in love with their Chicken Curry and Basmati Rice.

Now that I’ve gotten to try some of their specialties, I think I understand their menu a lot better. This may become one of my favorites!

What’s the most exotic food you’ve tried?
