Happy Friday, Manchester!

Yesterday Sara and I got to tour Penuche’s Music Hall at 1087 Elm Street,

and we were impressed! Their outdoor seating is brand new and custom- a beautiful and bright orange that really pops on the sidewalk!   They added balcony seating and spruced up the chandeliers. The bathrooms were completely redone to look modern and luxurious.

But the best part of all: They now serve mudslides! The perfect cold treat on a warm summer day. Penuche’s is planning to have live music as often as possible, so keep an eye out for fun shows this summer!

I don’t know about you, but I’m obsessed with Tasty videos. Let me clarify; have you seen those short recipe videos that your friends share on Facebook that always result in something mouth-watering (and probably covered in cheese)? I love them! I could spend hours watching all of those delicious creations being made. The best part is knowing that you too can make delectable delights at home!

This past week I stumbled upon the perfect Tasty video: Strawberry Shortcake Pancakes and more for Mothers’ Day!

What a yummy-looking spread! You can find the recipes here.

Of course, if you don’t have the ability to cook breakfast in bed for the moms in your life, you can check out our Mothers’ Day blog post for other awesome gift ideas!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Did you make it out for the Taco tour last night? The weather was perfect for hopping down Elm Street, picking up tacos, and listening to live music! The Judges’ Choice winner last night was Midtown Cafe with their grilled chicken kabob taco. Although I got to try a ton of awesome tacos, I’m kicking myself for not waiting in that line!

My personal favorite taco was served by Fratello’s, but a huge shout out goes to Firefly for having an open toppings bar! What was your favorite stop?

Happy Friday! Although the weather had a fun April Fool’s Day prank to play on us, I think it’s safe to say the Spring is finally here. The weather forecast still reads that next week we’ll be launched into some beautiful sunny days before the spring showers hit!

I think the best way to celebrate warm weather is with cool drinks, and it seems that A&E Coffee agrees. They’ve got some awesome specials for the month of April that’ll help you cool down and enjoy that weather!

The following is a guest post by A&E Coffee

A&E Coffee & Tea is launching two new Feature Drinks in April, the Very Berry Cream Soda and the Spring Break Latte. “These are a continuation of our craft approach to drinks in our cafes,” says Emeran Langmaid, owner. “We are constantly striving to come up with creative ways to make drinks using real, natural ingredients. Certainly as the craft cocktail has become popular, craft lattes and au laits are following suit.”

The Very Berry Cream Soda is a spin-off of the widely popular Espresso Cream Soda made at A&E Coffee & Tea. It uses only 5 ingredients: organic very berry tea, cream, seltzer, house made vanilla simple syrup and garnished with fruit.

The Spring Break Latte is concocted with orange zest infused almond coconut milk, espresso and house made vanilla simple syrup. It can be served hot or iced.

What’s your favorite springtime drink?

TIM BARRY LIVE @ THE SHASKEEN

The first time one of his friend’s fathers saw singer/songwriter Tim Barry perform, he summed up his thoughts with a Yogi Berra-worthy declaration: “You’re old-timey in a modern way.” That’s a near perfect description for the artist who sums up his latest solo release, Lost & Rootless in a single word: WOODEN. “That’s the feel that I was going for when I picked the songs,” says Barry. “There’s violin, voice, a wooden resonator guitar…there’s a very subtle electric bass on one track, but otherwise I wanted to do a wooden record.” To get your tickets now, click here!

CHROMATROPIC LIVE @ PENUCHE’S

Chromatropic is as unique as their name would suggest. While the Brooklyn band’s lineage can be traced from a wide variety of musical influences, the end result is difficult to categorize.
