Tables Out, Umbrellas UpHappy Friday! Not only did we have a full work week of gorgeous weather, but it looks like we’re about to have a beautiful weekend too! Now that it is beginning to warm up, we’ve seen outdoor seating make its way across Downtown! With all the rain we’ve been hit with, I’ve been BEGGING for it to finally get sunny out! Last Spring we updated our Downtown dining directory to reflect what restaurants have outdoor seating. See the directory here! Also, be sure to check out Milk and Honey’s beautiful outside seating; the newest addition to outdoor dining in Downtown! They offer half off juices from 4p-5p. It’s the perfect opportunity to sip a cold drink and enjoy the sun! I don’t know about you, but I’ll sit outside to eat at any chance I can get!

What Downtown restaurant has your favorite outdoor seating?

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Did you make it out for the Taco tour last night? The weather was perfect for hopping down Elm Street, picking up tacos, and listening to live music! The Judges’ Choice winner last night was Midtown Cafe with their grilled chicken kabob taco. Although I got to try a ton of awesome tacos, I’m kicking myself for not waiting in that line!

My personal favorite taco was served by Fratello’s, but a huge shout out goes to Firefly for having an open toppings bar! What was your favorite stop?

Happy Friday, everyone!

I’m so excited because today kicks off Restaurant Week! Over 100 restaurants across the Granite State are partnering up to offer dining discounts and special menus, including a few popular spots in Downtown. This is the perfect time to shake off the winter blues and try some new restaurants! There is no ticketing involved, simply walk into a participating restaurant and ask your server about the Restaurant Week Menu. For a list of participating restaurants click here. Don’t forget to share photos of your meals using #RestaurantWeekNH!

HAPPY SAINT PATRICK’S DAY!

It’s finally here! I don’t know about you, but I LOVE corned beef and cabbage. If you’re looking to indulge in some Irish fair there’s no shortage of options right here in Downtown! A few restaurants who will be featuring special menus for today are:

Theo’s Pizza Restaurant | 102 Elm Street | 603-669-4678

Hooked & Ignite | 110 Hanover Street | 603-606-1189

The Pint Publik House | 1111 Elm Street | 603-206-5463

Firefly | 22 Concord Street | 603-935-9740

Happy #foodiefriday! I don’t know about you, but this is my favorite day of the week. Looking at all the different cuisine that Downtown has to offer gets me excited for the weekend!

Recently Julia and I have been in a bit of a lunch rut. We try to stay healthy, but our home-packed lunches aren’t quite enough. We were on the search for something simple yet exciting, and then we found the Midtown Cafe.

The Midtown cafe is a small shop inside the Beacon building on Elm Street. They serve up plenty of classics like grilled cheeses and BLT’s, but they also have plenty of fun twists! My favorite part is that you can add sriracha to any of the sandwiches they serve. I love being able to have that extra kick!

How do you all beat the lunchtime blues?

Memorial Day weekend is here, and with it comes food, friends, and (finally) some great weather! While this weekend is meant for honoring the fallen who have fought for our country, it is also considered the unofficial start of summer. So since most of you will be having barbecues this weekend and basking in the beautiful weather, I figured I’d dig up some Patriotic (and yummy!) recipes to help your guests remember what this weekend is all about!

Of course, if you don’t feel like cooking, you can always come to downtown!

After 10 great years in Downtown (and one of my favorite tacos on the Taco Tour) JW Hill’s has sadly closed their doors. We’d like to thank them for being a great neighbor for the past decade and wish them all the best!

Now that the space at 795 Elm Street is for lease, we (at the Intown office) were brainstorming what type of restaurant or business we’d like to see as an addition to our already great downtown! We like to dream big here in our little office and have conjured a few cool ideas ourselves! What would you like to see in the space!?
