#FoodieFriday: Would you like some cake with that empanada?

If you are looking for a place to eat that has everything, look no further.

Dulces Bakery has sweet, savory, and so much in between. When I say bakery, I don’t mean a run of the mill, all sweets bakery. This family-owned establishment has amazing custom cakes, delicious empanadas, a variety of sandwiches, tres leches, assorted Spanish pastries and so much more that I won’t list because it would take the whole page up.

Dulces had to close their previous location on the West side of Manchester and create a new beginning in downtown Manchester this past December. We are happy to have them in our district, because YUM. Taking just a quick walk, you can enjoy very affordable, delicious lunch (and dessert to take home). I got a seriously delightful beef empanada and chicken empanada and spent around $3.50. I then had to leave the restaurant before I bought the other empanadas they had to sell, let alone all the desserts.

If this hasn’t piqued your interest yet, how about some tres leches for dessert first? Not sure what that is? Picture this: a soft cake soaked in different milks with whatever toppings you can think of. Truly worth a try if you’ve never had it before, and worth another if you have. If you’re not ready for dessert yet and don’t want an empanada, don’t fret- they have sandwiches made to order. If you’re not in the mood for a sandwich, they have different daily specials, which are a full meal, there is even a non-alcoholic drink special. All the choices can make it hard to decide, which is how you end up like me, just needing to leave after you order so you don’t keep buying more! Dulces is a great spot if you want some authentic Spanish fare and to try something you never have before.

After checking out the pictures on their Facebook, I am thoroughly impressed with their custom cakes. All in all I give it a thumbs up and recommend you try it out. Dulces Bakery is located at 424 Chestnut Street and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
