It’s almost July 4th, and it seems like everyone’s going on vacation! If you’re staying home this weekend and need something to do, there are still some great events happening downtown! Check ’em out below and have a great holiday weekend!!

New Hampshire Fisher Cats
The Fisher Cats are at home again this weekend! At Friday’s game there will be a special Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular, and there will be another fireworks show on Saturday! On Sunday the first 1,000 fans will receive a free Fisher Cats t-shirt! While you’re at the game, try the winning hot dog from the Kayem Franks Perfect Hot Dog Contest! Winner Victoria Lockwood’s “Triple B” features Baked Beans, BBQ Sauce & Bacon, and will be available from July 4th – 10th! See the game schedule and buy tickets here.
Thursday Night, July 3rd:
3:00pm – 6:30pm on Concord Street
Come down to Manchester’s Farmers Market on Concord Street for some of the best New Hampshire products such as produce, meat, cut flowers, baked goods, and specialty foods. This week there will be a performance by local musician Ryan Sandford! More info here.
Special Potluck and Fireworks Dance Party
7:00pm – 10:30pm @ Queen City Ballroom
Get on your dancing shoes and head down to Queen City Ballroom for an evening full of Ballroom, Latin, and Swing music! Singles and couples of all ages and dance levels welcome! Tickets are $10 per person, and it’s sure to be a busy evening so make sure to RSVP! Get more info here.

Clay & Stained Glass Workshops
All day @ Studio 550
Studio 550 is hosting some great workshops this Saturday! These workshops are designed to let people try a class out to see if they will like it before they sign up for a 10-week full length course. This Saturday there will be a Stained Glass Workshop from 1pm – 4pm, and two Clay Workshops from 3pm – 6pm and 6pm – 9pm. If you’re looking for something that’s more family-friendly, Studio 550 is also offering a family clay workshop from 1:30pm to 2:30pm! Come in with your child(ren) to share the magic of clay together.
Fireworks & 2014 Independence Day Celebration
The City of Manchester will be hosting the 2014 Independence Day Celebration at Arms Park! The 39th Army Band will be performing at 7:30pm until the fireworks display begins at approximately 9:30pm. Food and beverage vendors will be available beginning at 6:00, or you can bring your own! (No alcoholic beverages allowed). Admission is FREE! Find more info here.
