Weekend Watching June-25-2014

Everybody’s working for the weekend. Am I right? Given that July is right around the corner, and weekends in the summer are THE BEST, I figured every Wednesday I’d make a one-stop blog post to help you plan for Friday night all the way to Sunday night!  It’s summertime in New Hampshire, we have to enjoy it while we can!

We try our hardest to ensure the accuracy of these events, but please be sure to call ahead to confirm dates, times, location, and cost!


All weekend long:

The World Cup

The Wild Rover, The Shaskeen, and JW Hill’s are all having World Cup specials! Check out our online directory for the full list of bars in Downtown to see what your favorite spot has up its sleeve for the Cup!

Paint night at Muse Paintbar

There are classes on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday! Click here for the schedule!

Cirque de Soleil: Varekai

Playing at the Verizon Wireless Arena NOW until Sunday! See schedule and buy tickets here.

New Hampshire Fishercats

They are home all weekend! There will be fireworks at Saturday night’s game and free hats handed out to the first 1,000 fans at Sunday afternoon’s game! More information here.

Live music

There is always live music downtown in Manchester! The Shaskeen, Strange Brew Tavern, N’Awlins, Murphy’s Taproom, Fratellos, Milly’s Tavern, The Wild Rover, World Sports Grille, Jade Dragon, and even more have live music every weekend! Friday Night, June 27th:

Restaurant Rally 2014 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM

Support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Manchester for with their event featuring Ignite, Hooked, N’awlins Grille, XO on Elm, and Ben & Jerry’s. “Partnering restaurants will feature a $5.00 suggested cover charge to patrons for the evening along with additional incentives at each location. The restaurant that raises the most funding for BBBSGM will be crowned the 2014 Restaurant Rally Champion. 100% of the funds raised through the Rally will be used to match youth who are ready to be matched with a lifelong mentor by the end of the summer.” More information here.

Date night at Studio 550 from 6:00pm-7:30pm or 7:30pm-9:00pm

“Everything for a couple is included with the listed price (materials, tools, instruction, etc.). [They] will guide you through a basic pottery lesson and then you will be set free on the wheel to make your own creations! You are welcome to bring food, chocolates or beverages. $60 per couple, all materials and instruction is included for a 1.5 hour lesson.” More information here.

Dueling Pianos will be playing at the Radisson at 8:30pm

A mix of comedy and music, the dueling pianos are ALWAYS an entertaining event! Tickets are only $20 a piece! More information here.


Saturday, June 28th:

Free Acupuncture Day at Manchester Acupuncture Studio from 9:00am to 4:00pm

Run Group Clinic and One on One Session at Runners Alley from 10:00am to 2:00pm

Head to Runner’s Alley “to learn how to practice more natural running form! The clinic will start off in a group setting and then people can stick around for more one on one attention which will include video taping of your form.”  This event is FREE. More information here.

Model A Ford Club show from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the Millyard Museum

“The Millyard Museum will be receiving a special visit from the White Mountain Region Chapter of the Model A Ford Club of America.  Come check out the Museum’s parking lot for an up-close look at over a dozen Model A’s and receive 1/2 off admission to the Millyard Museum.” More information here.

The NH Police Association Pipes & Drums 20th Anniversary Concert at 6:30pm at the Palace Theatre

This concert will be held OUTSIDE on Hanover Street! What a perfect way to spend a summer evening. Tickets are $24.50 and can be bought here.

Headliners Comedy Club LIVE show at the Radisson at 8:30pm

Sunday, June 29th:

Sundays are made for brunching and Sunday Fundays!

Head to Strange Brew Tavern for live music, Firefly Bistro to build your own bloody mary, The Farm for $5 bloody’s and mimosas and $5 1/2 pound burgers all day, Murphy’s Diner for an extensive french toast menu, The Red Barn Diner for a great specials menu and homemade pie, or B&B for a quick and delicious breakfast among many, many other spots!
